Gig Harbor Schools Searching For Superintendent
The Peninsula School District is looking for a new leader as Superintendent Robert Manahan submitted his resignation.

GIG HARBOR, WA - Superintendent of Schools Robert Manahan submitted his resignation recently, and the Peninsula School District is looking to hire a new administrative leader. Manahan left the district to accept a superintendent's position with the Snoqualmie School District.
Manahan said in a statement that he made the decision to leave the district after a lot of thought and conversation. "The work we started here in Peninsula will carry on without a doubt," he said. "There is so much talent and passion here that is focused on kids it makes me extremely hopeful for the future of this district – our kids, staff, parents and community. I still have family here – which made this decision even more difficult – and I am still wanting the best for them and all of you and our kids."
The board has released a statement saying that it will hire an interim superintendent for the 2018-2019 school year while it conducts a more comprehensive search.
