Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Mike is the Assistant Grocery Manager at Fred Meyer in Gig Harbor. He doesn't just walk around the store checking on things, he is a hands on supervisor. He is there unloading trucks, stocking shelves, doing all the paperwork he has to do as a leader, will even go to the front and bag when they need help. He is a 100% Fred Meyer employee, working 10-15 hour days, sometimes 6 days a week, having staggering shifts during this time. He goes home physically exhausted every day. He has lost 30 pounds since this pandemic started. He has to deal with the crowds, the anger and frustration of customers for empty shelves, or taking more than they are allowed. He is on the front lines making sure we have food to take home, exposing himself to those who could have the virus. He is my unsung hero.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
His devotion to his work every day, and especially his commitment to others during this time. He a caring young man and he is there to help.
Thank you for all you do, Michael!
