Heron's Key Residents Participate in Design Forum

More than 100 "early depositors" on the future senior living community in Gig Harbor gave their input on design and culture of the home.

Bremerton architecture firm Rice Fergus Miller (RFM) hosted a design forum for the future residents of Heron’s Key at Gig Harbor, Emerald Communities’ second retirement community in the Puget Sound area, on April 29.

RFM is the project architect.

Approximately 70 of the 100+ early depositors came to RFM’s LEED Platinum Office & Studio for the first in a series of events — during which they have the unique opportunity to offer their input on the design and culture of their future home.

In addition to a collaborative dialogue about community design elements, attendees were provided with a project update:

  • Schematic design is underway and the Heron’s Key project team is continuing to meet with the City of Gig Harbor Design Review Board.
  • Final floor plans and unit pricing — along with the completion of the expanded Emerald Communities info center with a furnished one-bedroom model apartment — are expected in fall 2013.  At that time, early depositors will have a chance to reserve their residences at Heron’s Key.
