McCarthy Hails State Farm Decision to Open Center in Downtown Tacoma
Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy says she welcomes the move and says it's another sign that the region "is a great place to live, work and play."

The following is a statement by Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy regarding State Farm’s announcement on April 19:
“Pierce County welcomes State Farm’s decision to open an Initial Loss Reporting center in downtown Tacoma. This follows Amazon’s recent decision to build in DuPont. In Frederickson, a company called FPS/EnCon is preparing to build the concrete rings that will line the new SR-99 tunnel in Seattle. Thousands of jobs are being added to our local economy, which continues to demonstrate that this is a great place to live, work and play.
“Lots of people worked together to make these successes a reality, including property owners, local cities and the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County. And they’re not done. We continue to work with them on other opportunities to attract great companies to the area.”
