Patch user Harry Gonzalez posted this response to the toll increase on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge:
"Fellow Washingtonians, Olympia has and will continue to take advantage of us until we demonstrate we have had enough in a language they respond to. The practice of stonewalling by the administration regarding other options for the generation of funds, i.e., refinancing the bond(s), is a common and a legal maneuver.
Olympia understands legal maneuvers and responds well when a legal motion is served. As such complaining about the increase tolls, fleecing, and other opinions are just -- words. Articulating your concerns during public meetings are just – words.
Does Olympia have the authority to amass the funds they project to generate with this increase and the next? What does the law say about the application of those funds?"
