The first day of school in Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula is August 30 for grades 1-12 and September 5 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Peninsula School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.
The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.
