Peninsula School Calendar 2019-2020: First Day Of School And More

GIG HARBOR, WA — The first day of school for the Peninsula School District is Aug. 28 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP.

The Peninsula School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools. The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• Aug. 28: First day of school - grades 1-12

September

• Sept. 2: No School - Labor Day
• Sept. 3: First day of school - Kindergarten

October

• Oct. 11-18: Conferences for grades K-8
• Oct 14: No School
• Oct. 16: PSATs

November

• Nov. 11: No School (Veterans Day)
• Nov. 27: Half day
• Nov. 27-29: No School - Thanksgiving Break

December

• Dec. 23-31: No School - Winter Break

January

• Jan. 1-3: No School - Winter Break
• Jan. 20: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• Jan. 24: No School

February

• Feb. 17-21: No School - Mid-Winter Break

March

• March 13: No School
• March 19-20: Conferences for grades K-5

April

• April 13-17: No School - Spring Break

May

• May 22-25: No School - Memorial Day Break

June

• June 17: Last Day of School - Half Day
• June 18-19: Possible snow makeup days
