GIG HARBOR, WA — The first day of school for the Peninsula School District is Aug. 28 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP.
The Peninsula School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools. The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

- Sept. 3: First day of school - Kindergarten

- Oct. 11-18: Conferences for grades K-8
- Oct 14: No School

- Nov. 27: Half day
- Nov. 27-29: No School - Thanksgiving Break
