Rainier View Water Sold To Washington Water Service

About 35,000 homes across Pierce County will be affected by the move.

GIG HARBOR, WA — Former Rainier View Water customers are going to be seeing a different name on their water bill going forward.

Wednesday Washington Water Service announced it had finalized the purchase of Rainier View Water Company’s system. Rainier View Water managed 27 water systems, serving roughly 35,000 homes in Puyallup, Gig Harbor, Graham, Spanaway and other parts of Pierce County.

Washington Water Service is a subsidiary of the California Water Service Group. With the purchase, they say they've doubled their foothold in Washington state. Despite the sale, Washington Water Service says not much will change for customers.

“We have been working to make the transition as seamless as possible for customers and employees, and we thank the Rainier View Water team and Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission for all of their efforts over recent months to bring us to this point,” said CEO Martin A. Kropelnicki.

Now that the sale is finished, the Rainier View Water's old service area will be called Washington Water’s East Pierce Region. Former customers of Rainier View Water will be able to call the same office numbers for support, but can also contact the Washington Water Service online by emailing infoEP@wawater.com or visiting www.wawater.com.
