Snow, Thunderstorms May Hit Puget Sound This Week

As usual, it will be worse in the mountains. But lowland areas might get snow and hail, too.

GIG HARBOR, WA - We'll be straight about this right away: most people around Puget Sound will only see flurries this week if anything, although places like Olympia and the Kitsap Peninsula could see about an inch of snow. But there will be snow falling in the mountains, and it will be serious.

Current forecasts call for snow between Thursday and Friday near sea level across Puget Sound, according to University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass. Snow levels could drop as low as 1,000 feet on Friday. Over the weekend, the mountains will get hammered with 1 to 2 feet of snow.

There's other wild weather in the forecast.
