Stinson Avenue Delays To Continue Through Friday Afternoon
Gig Harbor city officials on Thursday said investigative work on sewer and storm lines will require an additional day of delays on Stinson.

GIG HARBOR, WA - Road work on Stinson Avenue will continue through Friday afternoon, according to Gig Harbor city officials. An update to wastewater utilities was previously expected to conclude Thursday, but the work will now reportedly require an additional day.
"Please be advised, delays on Stinson Avenue will continue through tomorrow, Friday, January 11," city spokeswoman Mimi Jansen wrote on Facebook. "The Public Works crew is continuing their investigative work on sewer and storm lines in preparation for a future water line. The work is anticipated to end no later than 4 p.m. (Jan. 11)."
Jansen previously told Patch there could be times Stinson Avenue is reduced to one lane. To avoid long delays Jansen suggested southbound travelers divert around Stinson Avenue by taking Harborview Drive to Soundview Drive, or vice versa for northbound travelers; or take Harborview Drive to Pioneer Way or Rosedale Street Northwest before resuming Stinson Avenue on the Southside.
