With events like Parks Appreciation Day and Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup and Expo set for this weekend in the Harbor, will the weather cooperate?

The National Weather Service in Seattle is forecasting showers through Friday night and scattered showers throughout Saturday. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-50s during the day and around 40-degrees at night.

On the bright side, National Weather Service is predicting temperatures to climb to the upper 60s with plenty of sunshine.

• Saturday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. West southwest wind 14 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

• Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

• Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 54. Southeast wind 3 to 6 mph.

• Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
