WSU to Promote Higher Education in Gig Harbor on Tuesday

Imagine U @ College! will visit Peninsula High School on Tuesday. The unique program explains the benefits of higher education, how to apply for admission and pay tuition, and how to be successful in college.

Hundreds of high school students and community members are expected to participate in Washington State University’s Imagine U @ College! on Tuesday, May 7 in Gig Harbor.

Imagine U @ College! is a unique program that explains the benefits of higher education, how to apply for admission and pay tuition, and how to be successful in college.

A contingent of WSU faculty, staff, students and alumni will be visiting Peninsula High School on Tuesday. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue throughout the school day.

Students will attend hands-on presentations on a wide variety of academic areas during the morning. After breaking for lunch, participants will hear from WSU students, learn about the admissions application process and receive tips to help them prepare for higher education.

Parents will get involved with Imagine U! at Family Night. Starting at 6:15 p.m. on the same day at the high school, family members can attend workshops on college admissions and paying for college and interact with WSU faculty, staff and students. All sessions are free.

Port Angeles High School will host a similar Imagine U! program on Wednesday, May 8.

Imagine U at College! is supported by the College Access Challenge Grant from the Washington Student Achievement Council.
