GIG HARBOR, WA — A series of road projects along SR 302 will begin soon near Gig Harbor and continue next summer, when WSDOT plans to close the Purdy Spit bridge for three weekends for bridge deck repair.

Between now and next summer, WSDOT crews will be replacing several culverts along SR 302 to improve fish passages. Those projects are being combined with repaving work, including repaving the deck of the Purdy Spit bridge.

The first part of the work will begin Aug. 26, according to WSDOT, with the construction of a bypass near Minter Creek, about 4-1/2 miles west of Henderson Bay. Drivers will see lane and shoulder closures during daytime hours.
