Kirkland Ranked A Top Place For First-Time Homebuyers

Nerdwallet has released a new study showing why Kirkland is a great place to buy a first home.

KIRKLAND, WA - The personal finance website Nerdwallet has ranked Kirkland the 16th best place in the U.S. for first-time home buyers, according to a study released today.

NerdWallet looked at the 448 largest U.S. cities and then ranked them according to how affordable, livable, an economically stable they are. They used data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, the website NeighborhoodScout, and Down Payment Resource, which shows the amount of homeowner assistance in a given area.

Kirkland scored high marks for its economic stability, although it's slightly less affordable than other cities on the list.
