Troopers say one of the involved vehicles is a semi truck, and that the crash has closed several lanes of the freeway.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Troopers are asking commuters to steer clear of I-5 southbound after a car crash on the freeway early Tuesday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, the crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. just south of where I-5 intersects with SR-512.
It's unclear exactly what caused the collision or how many vehicles were involved, but troopers confirm there were several damaged vehicles, at least one of which was a semi-truck.

Traffic is getting by both directions now in 1 or 2 lanes per side. Dynamic situation so I’m still waiting on details as far as injuries and official amount involved. Thanks for your patience. Does not appear to be serious injury.
