15 JBLM Families Sue Over Base's Living Conditions: Report

The 51 plaintiffs allege mismanagement by Lincoln Military Housing caused mold to grow in their homes, according to a News Tribune report.

LAKEWOOD, WA — 51 plaintiffs from 15 military families who lived on Joint Base Lewis-McChord between 2016 and 2020 have filed a lawsuit against Lincoln Military Housing, according to a new report from The Tacoma News Tribune.

As the Tribune explains, the families allege that Lincoln mismanaged their properties, causing leaks which pooled and allowed mold to fester in their homes. That mold reportedly caused family members to suffer a number of adverse symptoms, from watery eyes and fatigue to headaches and static shock.

The families are asking Lincoln to cover any future medical expenses, and lost wages, among other compensation, the Tribune reported.
