18 Memorial Day Ceremonies Happening In Puget Sound This Weekend

LAKEWOOD, WA - There are scores of Memorial Day events happening this weekend, from the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle to countless barbecues. But the purpose of Memorial Day weekend is to remember soldiers who have died serving in the armed forces. If you want to pay your respects this weekend, visit one of these 18 ceremonies happening around the region this weekend.

One of the bigger services will take place Monday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord ast 11 a.m. Col. Daniel S. Morgan, JBLM garrison commander, will speak and place a wreath on the marker honoring service members. If you want to attend, visitors must get a guest pass at the JBLM Visitor Center located off of exit 120 along I-5.
