OAKVILLE, WA — Several law enforcement agencies are investigating after the body of a missing woman was recovered from the Chehalis River earlier this week.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is just one of the agencies investigating the death. They say their Swiftwater Rescue Team was called to Oakville in Grays Harbor County Monday, after a car was found sunken in the Chehalis River just outside of town.

Deputies say the car had originally been found by volunteers searching for the woman. Before pulling it from the river, they used an underwater camera to confirm the car was registered to the deceased.
