Clover Park School Board Approves Two-Year Contract With Support Staff

On Monday night, the Clover Park School District Board of Directors approved a two-year negotiated agreement with the Educational Support Personnel of Clover Park.

ESPCP represents district bus drivers, bus mechanics, food service workers, secretaries, para–professionals and professional–technical staff.

“Our classified staff is very important to our classrooms and to the success of our students. We are happy to have settled a contract that benefits everyone involved,” said superintendent Debbie LeBeau.

On Sept. 10, ESPCP members ratified the contract with a 96.5 percent approval rate. The school board’s action finalizes the agreement between the district and education support personnel in Clover Park.

“Both teams worked very collaboratively together resulting in a positive outcome,” said Lori McStay, executive director of human resources.

“This new contract moves ESPCP members in the right direction. We are proud of the collaboration and hard work that both bargaining teams put forth to make this happen,” said Irene Oda, ESPCP president.

“On behalf of the school board, thank you to the negotiating teams,” said Clover Park School District Board of Directors president Carole Jacobs. “We appreciate your efforts and the time you spent to reach this joint agreement.”

The new contract is effective for the period of Sept. 1, 2013 through Aug. 31, 2015.
