Construction To Close JBLM's DuPont Gate To Outbound Traffic
The closure is planned to last for nearly four whole weeks as crews repair the damaged gate.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Commuters headed to and from Joint Base Lewis-McChord will want to be aware of an upcoming closure of the DuPont Gate that could last nearly four weeks.
JBLM officials say necessary repairs to the DuPont Gate will force them to close the gate to outbound traffic from October 12 though November 6. During that time, inbound traffic will still be allowed during the gate's regular hours, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
To make up for the closure, the hours of the RCF gate will be extended to:

- 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays for outbound traffic only.
- 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. weekdays for inbound traffic only.
The gate will remain closed on weekends and federal holidays, however.
During the closure officials are recomennding commuters consider alternate gates, including Liberty Gate, Newis North Gate and Madigan Gate, all of which are open 24 hours a day. The Integrity gate also remains open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends and holidays.
