Day And Nighttime Artillery Training At JBLM This Week

If you live near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, expect a little extra noise between Wednesday morning and Friday night.

LAKEWOOD, WA —Residents of Lakewood who live near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) will want to prepare for some extra noise this week.

The base announced Tuesday that it will be conducting day and nighttime training with mortars and demolitions from 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to 11:59 p.m. Friday.

The base published a map indicating the areas where the training likely will be heard.

According to JBLM, comments about noise or other disturbances may be directed to the JBLM Garrison Public Affairs hotline at 253-967-0852 or 253-967-0147. Reports of nuisance smoke should be directed to 253-912-2049.
