Free Christmas Trees At JBLM For Soldiers On Saturday

700 trees will arrive at the base this weekend as part of the "Trees for Troops" program.

LAKEWOOD, WA - Enlisted service members will be able to pick up a free Christmas tree at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Saturday morning, courtesy of the "Trees for Troops" program.

About 700 trees will be delivered to the base on Friday, which were donated by tree growers from all over the U.S. The trees are available to any E-1 through E-5 service member on Saturday morning at the North American Lake Conference Center.

The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation runs the trees-for-troops program with FedEx providing delivery service. The program has been around 2005, and FedEx has shipped approximately 176,000 trees to service members in every branch of the military on 65 bases in 17 countries.
