Aaron Boyle knows what it's like to be tested under fire.
The 24-year-old Tacoma native is a veteran, one who lost his right arm and leg (and nearly his left leg) during an explosion three years ago in Afghanistan.
Despite his injuries, he recovered. In fact, he swings a mean iron. He's a regular at American Lake Veterans Golf Course, where he used to visit with his family as a youth.
"This place is a miracle, in terms of what it can do for veterans," he said Friday.
Sure, he's a big fan of the Lakewood golf course, but how would he fare on it with a golf legend watching?
That's right, Golf legend Jack Nicklaus, on hand to ceremonially break ground on a future nine-hole course designed for injured and recovering veterans, watched Friday as Boyle took a swing.
