JBLM's DuPont Gate Reopens To Outbound Traffic
The gate has reopened after being closed for construction for most of the month, though some construction closures remain.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Joint Base Lewis-McChord's DuPont gate has resumed normal operation, meaning drivers headed off-base can now use it to leave once again after a nearly monthlong closure.
Back on Oct. 2, JBLM officials announced necessary repairs to the DuPont Gate would force them to close the gate to outbound traffic from October 12 though November 6. However, construction has wrapped up quicker than expected, and Tuesday the base announced that the gate has reopened to outbound traffic.
During the closure, the RCF gate had its hours extended to allow more people off the base. Its hours will remain extended until Oct 29. From there, the gate will be open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. to inbound traffic only, and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for outbound traffic.
