Keep Lakewood Beautiful's City Wide Litter Clean Up Event Scheduled For May 18.

Those who register will get a free hotdog picnic outside City Hall at noon that day.

Keep Lakewood Beautiful is sponsoring it’s second annual city-wide litter clean up event for May 18 and rewards those that register with a free hotdog picnic outside City Hall at noon.

Perhaps sometime as you traveled Lakewood you’ve noticed occasional litter or clutter in the right of way and thought to yourself, “I wish someone would pick that up.” or maybe “Who is ever going to clean-up this mess?".

Well no community has the resources to clean-up every piece of trash or pull every weed. So the best response is to take action as a community, pick it up and pitch in to keep our roadsides and public spaces looking more beautiful, fresh and clean! This year the civic group Keep Lakewood Beautiful is organizing the first annual Lakewood Community Clean-Up Day. The event will be on Saturday, May 18 registration is from 9am to 10am outside Lakewood City Hall. After a couple hours of community clean-up work, participants can return to city hall for a free hot dog picnic as a ‘Thank You’.

This event provides the perfect venue for those who want to join with other citizens to make a difference and take a direct approach to community beautification. Individuals, families and groups from all over the city will be joining forces to clean-up the trash and spruce-up our right-of-ways.

Your family, you as an individual or as part of a business, community, school or neighborhood group simply need to come register at city hall that morning and then you decide for yourself where and exactly what your community clean-up project will be that day. Keep Lakewood Beautiful can provide suggested locations and will also provide work supplies and a central litter disposal location for all the litter collected.

Once finished with your clean-up project, join all your fellow community-improvement warriors for a picnic and hotdogs starting at noon.
