Lakewood Listed As One Of Washington's Most Diverse Suburbs
Niche ranked Washington cities on all sorts of metrics from public schooling to housing, and found Lakewood to be one of the most diverse.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Lakewood is Washington's 10th most diverse suburb, according to a new ranking from Niche.
For Niche's 2021 Places To Live Rankings, they studied thousands of cities across the country, rating them on metrics like crime, safety, and housing.
Their study of Lakewood found plenty of good things, like the nightlife which they gave an A, but the city's diversity is what really stood out, putting it in Washington's top 10.

"Lakewood is in Pierce County. Living in Lakewood offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents rent their homes," the study's findings read. "In Lakewood there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks."
Overall, the study gave Lakewood a B-, lauding the city for having above average public schools, but docking points for issues with housing and crime and safety, which got a C and C-, respectively.

Lakewood also did well on their ranking of Best Suburbs for Young Professionals in Washington, coming in at #42 out of all 183 suburbs.
Generally, Washington performed fairly well in Niche's 2021 Places to Live Rankings, with Seattle and Bellevue both taking top spots in their ranking of Best Cities to Live.
Nationally, Niche's research found that Chesterbrook, PA, was the best place to live in America, while The Woodlands, TX, earned top honors in the Best Cities to Live in America rankings.
