Pierce County Immunization Coalition Honors Clover Park School District Nurse Susan Keller

Keller received a certificate that describes her leadership to limit the spread of preventable diseases through immunizations.

Clover Park School District (CPSD) nurse Susan Keller, RN was honored by the Pierce County Immunization Coalition March 26. Keller received a certificate that describes her leadership to limit the spread of preventable diseases through immunizations. Keller was also honored for mentoring nurses in CPSD, Pierce County and throughout the state.

“Susan has worked to build relationships throughout the community to provide resources to our students and families,” said Holly Shaffer, CPSD director of student services.

Keller has been a school nurse in the district for 20 years. She earned her master’s degree in nursing in 2002 and has been nationally board certified for 10 years as a school nurse. She sits on the Pierce County Medical Society School Health Committee that includes the lead nurses from school districts throughout the county. Keller also serves on the Puget Sound Nurse Supervisors Committee. This committee includes a larger body of lead nurses throughout Washington, including the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
