A 77-year-old Spanaway man was killed when he rode his motorcycle into the path of an oncoming semi on SR-7 Tuesday afternoon.

LA GRANDE, WA — A 77-year-old Spanaway man was killed Tuesday when he inexplicably rode his motorcycle directly into the path of an oncoming commercial truck on State Route-7. However, impairment was not a factor in the crash, Washington State Patrol officials said.
Robert F. Gruber was riding south on his black 2014 Yamaha XVS1300 when he crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound 2004 Kenworth CMV with attached log trailer just south of La Grande.
The crash occurred around noon April 30.
