12 Have Applied For Vacant Mercer Island Council Seat
Tom Acker resigned in October after serving less than a year on the Council.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Twelve Mercer Island residents hoping to replace Tom Acker on City Council have submitted applications, according to city officials. Acker resigned in late September citing "personal health concerns and family commitments."
Acker was elected in the 2017 general election and was approaching the end of his first year on Council.
The applicants include: Lisa Anderl; Elizabeth Buckley; Heather Cartwright; Jonathan Conradt; Darren Gold; Traci Granbois; Thomas Hildebrandt; Leslie Meagley; Matt Murphy; Daniel Odievich; Craig Reynolds; and Kwan Wong.

You can meet the candidates at the Dec. 6 Council meeting, where they will be interviewed by Council members. Acker's replacement will be named by Dec. 11.
