Community Center Closes Temporarily for Annual Maintenance

The Mercer Island Community and Event Center (MICEC) will temporarily change its hours of operation for annual maintenance, according to a city press release.

Resurfacing the community center's gym floors, cleaning carpets and other annual repairs and maintenance to the facility require the city to close the MICEC until after Christmas.

It will operate under limited hours and limited services until January 2, 2013. The MICEC schedule is as follows:  

• December 19 through 25: CLOSED 
• December 26 through 29: 8:30am to 5:00pm. 
• On December 30: 11:00am to 5:00pm.
• On December 31: 8:00am to 2:00pm. 
• January 1: CLOSED 
• January 2, the MICEC will return to normal operating hours and services.

"The Center is taking this time to perform yearly maintenance on the facility and prepare for 2013 activities. We strive to maintain the MICEC with the intent of providing the community with a safe, clean, and enjoyable visiting experience," says Jana Raasch, MICEC Business and Operations Manager.
