Council Selects Replacement For Tom Acker
Acker resigned from the Mercer Island City Council in late September.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The Mercer Island City Council picked 19-year island resident Lisa Anderl to replace Tom Acker. Anderl served on the advisory board that recommended a levy increase to address predicted budget deficits.
Anderl, an attorney with CenturyLink, was one of 12 people who applied for Acker's spot. She was chosen in a vote at a special meeting Tuesday night. Anderl will start right away. Her first Council meeting will be on Dec. 18. Her term will last until after the November 2019 election.
Acker resigned on Sept. 30 via email citing "personal health concerns and family commitments," according to city officials. Acker was elected in November 2017.
