Curb Appeal

Hands down, the best time and money spent by a home seller is on curb appeal. If a buyer does not like the house from the street, the chances of getting them into the house are greatly reduced. No point in a whiz-bang interior if your Munsters-inpired exterior discourages half of your potential buyers from venturing through the front door. Even if your home isn’t as bad as the first picture bad, chances are it could still benefit from some added charm.

As my grandmother used to say, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This concept is oh, so important when it comes to preparing your house for sale. Buyers will make their buying decision on “feel” 95% of the time. Your job as a seller: make your home feel good. Really, it’s that simple.

A good-feeling home is a pretty universal thing. Consider what makes you feel happy and welcome: sparkly-clean, warm colors, no clutter, and spaces that look like someone cares. This is true for inside and out.
