FREE E-Cycling Saturday, August 27th 10am-3pm at the Congregational Church on Mercer Island

In partnership with 1 Green Planet, the Congregational Church on Mercer Island is proudly hosting a FREE sustainability event.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 27th, from 10am-3pm as the Congregational Church on Mercer Island and 1 Green Planet partner together to host a FREE Community E-cycling event. Simply pull into our parking lot and the 1 Green Planet team will unload your electronics from your vehicle into their storage trucks.

E-cycling is a great way to reuse electronics in a safe, secure and sustainable manner. How are your products recycled? According to 1 Green Planet:

  1. The items received are manually dismantled as the first step to recovering all of the basic components or materials. Items that cannot be dismantled in an efficient manner are put through a shredding process.
  2. Whole e-scrap or dismantled parts are shredded down to pieces that are less than 2 inches in diameter. They are then separated through a series of conveyor belt connected equipment by a process that is 95% automated.
  3. All electronic products are recycled and processed locally here in Washington. Leveraging our own processing center helps the local economy by keeping the work here. We also help local business to be more environmentally responsible by making sustainable recycling services available to them for FREE.

Please do not bring: televisions, wood, glass, chemicals, hazardous waste, paint, tires or alkaline batteries
