Harborview Doc Saves New Zealand Girl At Mercer Island Park
The 11-year-old girl complained of a sudden headache. That's when Dr. Alisha Brown sprang into action.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - An 11-year-old girl visiting Mercer Island from New Zealand was stricken with a deadly brain hemorrhage recently. Luckily, the girl was at a public park, and a doctor from Harborview Medical Center was there to provide immediate care.
Alyssa Ledbetter was at Luther Burbank with her family last month when she complained of a headache, according to a Harborview press release. Then she began to have seizures.
Dr. Alisha Brown was at the park, and immediately noticed that Ledbetter was having a brain hemorrhage. Two arteries in Ledbetter's brain had ruptured, the hospital reported.

Ledbetter's father, Dave, told KIRO 7 that his daughter will have to have Gamma Knife Radiosurgery before she can return home to New Zealand.
