Mercer Island Councilman Resigns Citing 'Health Concerns'
Tom Acker was elected last November. He resigned on Saturday.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Mercer Island Councilman Tom Acker resigned on Saturday via email citing "personal health concerns and family commitments," according to city officials. Acker was elected last November.
Mayor Debbie Bertlin called the resignation "unexpected" but wished Acker well.
“Serving on the Council and representing the community has been a rewarding experience which I've very much enjoyed. My health and the wellbeing of my family must be my first priority,” Acker wrote in his resignation letter.
