Mercer Island Man Arrested After Open House Theft
Police think the 36-year-old stole jewelry during an open house for a for-sale home.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - A 36-year-old man from Mercer Island was arrested by Arlington police recently over a theft that occurred during an open house in Arlington, according to the Marysville Globe. Arlington police believe the man stole about $800 worth of jewelry from the home.
The Globe reported that the owner of the home where the open house took place had surveillance cameras that captured the Mercer Island man carrying out the theft. A 37-year-old woman from Des Moines was also arrested by Arlington police in connection to the theft, according to the report.
Police in Renton, Mercer Island, and Covington are exploring whether the suspects carried out similar thefts during open houses in those cities, according to the Globe.
