Mercer Island Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open And Closed?
Whether you need last-minute appetizers or are getting an early jump on Christmas shopping, see what is open and closed on turkey day.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - It seems like retailers open earlier and earlier each year on Thanksgiving, but many stores and institutions will be closed around Puget Sound Nov. 23. Some grocery stores are open - with the exception of a few like PCC and Costco - but places like libraries, government offices, and the post office are all closed.
Here's a rundown of what's open and what's closed Thanksgiving 2017 in Puget Sound:
- Retail stores: Some stores opening early for Black Friday deals (WalMart, J.C. Penny, Macy's, Target, and other national retailers), but many local and smaller retailers won't open.
- Supermarkets: Open with some exceptions. See out full guide here.
- Convenience stores: Some will be open. Call ahead before you go.
- Gyms: Closed or reduced hours
- Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion
- Stock market: Closed
- Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed
- Libraries and schools: Closed
- Post office: Closed
- Trash Collection: There will be no collection on Thursday.
