Mercer Island Woman Wins At Chicago Spartan Race
Local Mercer Island athlete finishes 3rd in her age group both Saturday and Sunday at the Chicago Spartan Race.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - From the Spartan Race: Anna Bolger of Mercer Island earned a spot atop the podium twice at the Chicago Spartan Race after capturing 3rd in the Super 14-17 age group with a time of 3:19:35 and 3 rd in the Sprint 14-17 age group with a time of 2:08:57. Thousands of endurance athletes in the obstacle racing world tackled the gritty course at the Richmond Hunting Club for the Spartan Chicago U.S. National Series race weekend, June 23-24.
The Chicago Spartan Race weekend included some of the nation’s top athletes as well as weekend warriors and new racers taking on Spartan’s signature events, including the “Super” (8-10 mile, 24–29 obstacle), “Sprint” (3-5 mile, 20-23 obstacles), and Kids Races. The course featured miles of technical terrain, steep elevation and signature Spartan obstacles designed to push competitors to their limits.
Spartan events focus on sport and athleticism, pushing the bodies and minds of competitors to the limit across miles of unforgiving terrain while conquering signature obstacles.
