More Reserved Parking May Come To Mercer Island Transit Station
The Sound Transit board on Thursday approved an expansion of reservation program for solo drivers.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The Sound Transit board on Thursday approved an expansion of reserved parking at garages at Sounder stations around Puget Sound. Under the expansion, solo drivers will now be able to buy reserved parking permits.
The board is considering offering the permits at the following garages:
- Mukilteo, Edmonds, Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Sumner, Puyallup and Lakewood Sounder stations;
- The Federal Way Transit Center, Issaquah Transit Center and Mercer Island Park-and-Ride
- Tukwila International Blvd and Angle Lake Link light rail stations
- The Northgate Mall Park-and-Ride (scheduled to open in October)
The permits will be limited. Only about half of the garages that are selected for the program will have reserved parking. The rest of the parking will be for anyone to use on a first-come, first-served basis.
