"Painting Poetry" group show by Women Painters of Washington

September 15-December 31 with artist reception on October 1st from 4-6pm in downtown Seattle at the Columbia Center Building.

Poetry and visual art have inspired each other for centuries. In honor of this mutual affecting influence, Women Painters of Washington present “Painting Poetry” September 15-December 31, 2015 in downtown Seattle. Thirty-seven members will show their work inspired by poems, sonnets, limericks, and lyrics from a multitude of genres and authors, including some original poetry written by the artists themselves. Plutarch famously said, “painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.” See both mesmerizingly sing from canvas and paper by some of the finest women artists in Washington State and the country beginning September 15. There will be an artist reception on October 1st from 4-6pm directly before the Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk.
