Police Nab Mercer Island Car Prowler

They made the arrest with help from a construction worker and a Bellevue K9.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Mercer Island police - with help from Bellevue police and a local construction worker - arrested a thief Thursday suspected of multiple recent car prowls.

A local resident living along the 8800 block of Southeast 60th Street called police around 4:30 p.m. Thursday to report a car prowl in progress. When police arrived, the suspect was gone.

A Bellevue K9 dog responded to the scene, and police began a search of the area. A construction worker was able to point police in the right direction.

The suspect was arrested and was in possession of a stolen car, and was discovered to have outstanding Seattle criminal warrants. Police also recovered property in the suspect's stolen car from recent car prowls.
