Watch For I-90 Ramp Closures Through April 2

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Mercer Island commuters should be aware of upcoming I-90 ramp closures - including a full highway closure - set to happen through April 2. The closures are related to Sound Transit's Eastlink light rail project.

This week, crews will be removing support beams near Bellevue Way that were used to build the light rail flyover. On April 1, a full closure of I-90 between I-405 and Bellevue Way is necessary to move a construction crane.

Here's the schedule of upcoming closures:

March 25 to 29, overnight closures of ramps to Bellevue Way Southeast

• Westbound I-90 to Bellevue Way SE, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Eastbound I-90 to Bellevue Way SE, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Eastbound I-90 to Bellevue Way SE, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

March 25, 26, Bellevue Way to 113th Avenue Southeast

• From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., two-way traffic will be maintained on Bellevue Way
• During the day, no turns will be allowed from Bellevue Way to 113th Ave SE.

April 1, 2, full closure of westbound I-90 between Bellevue Way Southeast and I-405

• 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. ramp closures: I-405 south to I-90 west HOV ramp, I-405 south to I-90 west general purpose ramp, I-405 north to I-90 west HOV ramp; Richards Road and Southeast 32nd to westbound I-90; 142nd Pl. Southeast to westbound I-90 HOV Ramp.
• 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. lane closures: All lanes of westbound I-90 between I-405 and Bellevue Way Southeast. Ramps from Bellevue Way Southeast to I-90 will remain open.
