'Wolf Moon' Over Mercer Island: Send Us Your Photos
The first full moon of the year arrived on Thursday, and it was a nice one.
MERCER ISLAND, WA - The first full moon of 2017 - called a "Wolf Moon" or "Old Moon" - arrived over Puget Sound Thursday night, and it was a beautiful one.
The Wolf Moon isn't bigger or brighter than any usual full moon, but it gets a special name because it's the first one of the year. Skies over Puget Sound were exceptionally clear Thursday night, which allowed the moon to shine brightly.
