24-Hour Closure Of Shaw Road Begins Friday Night
The city will need to close a part of Shaw Road and 12th Avenue SE from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday to install a new deep sewer line.
PUYALLUP, WA — A 24-hour closure along Shaw Road and 12th Avenue Southeast this week will force all through traffic to detour out to South Meridian and 23rd Avenue Southeast, according to the city of Puyallup. Emergency access will be maintained as needed, but Puyallup police officers will post up on either side of the closure to reroute all other drivers.
The closure will begin at 8 p.m. June 28 and end by or before 8 p.m. June 29, officials said. The area of Shaw Road and 12th Avenue affected is located south of East Pioneer, north of Highlands Boulevard, and east of 27th Street Southeast.
According to the city, the closure will allow work crews to install a new deep sewer line; and doing so over 24 hours will prevent needing to close the area off three or four nights in a row while crews install and remove the equipment necessary to complete the work.
