3 Week Intersection Closure Begins In Downtown Puyallup

The intersection of West Main and 5th Street has been closed to traffic, but the city has outlined some potential detours.

PUYALLUP, WA — Construction crews have initiated a three-week closure of an intersection in the heart of Puyallup.

According to the city, the intersection of West Main and 5th Street will remain closed to all traffic, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until August 14. The road has been closed to allow for the installation of water and electrical utilities.

During the closure the city has outlined some key detours residents can use to avoid the area, as shown in the map below:

The city says, depending on where you're coming from and when, you may want to avoid the area all together if possible, as they expect significant traffic along the detour route and especially along West Meeker near the intersection.
