Bad Drivers, Aggressive 'Mooning', And More Shoplifters: Blotter
A Puyallup teen told police he shoved his grandma into a wall because she took his WiFi away. He called it a cruel and unusual punishment.

PUYALLUP, WA — Brazen purse snatchers, shoplifters, and really bad drivers highlight this iteration of the Puyallup Police Department's crime log, covering select incidents reported between May 14 and 17.
Simple Assault - Juvenile
2700-block of Ninth Street Southeast
The grandmother of a 14-year-old student from Kalles Junior High School told police her grandson pushed her against a wall because she took his WiFi connection as punishment for some unspecified wrongdoing. The grandmother noted the boy had been giving the family problems recently.

18th Street Southwest, at Seventh Avenue Southwest
An Amazon driver missed the posted stop sign on 18th Street Southwest and pulled out in front of cross traffic on Seventh Avenue Southwest, resulting in a T-bone, roll-over collision.

3900-block of 12th Street Southwest
The victim had a package stolen from her mailbox.
DV Assault 2 / Felony Harassment
2000-block of Seventh Avenue Southeast
A male swung a hammer at his sister’s head while yelling that he was going to kill her. The victim and her boyfriend were able to subdue her brother and take the hammer away. He was arrested and booked into PCJ.
DUI / Brandishing
4100 S. Meridian
Police arrested a man for DUI after learning the man pulled a gun from his truck in a bid to defend himself from another man who was reportedly "mooning" him. The "mooner" evidently chose not to cooperate with police or provide his name for the investigation.
The man who pulled the gun ended up providing BAC test results nearly double the legal limit.

303 35th Ave. SE - The Home Depot
A male associated with a green Ford Explorer has committed thefts at this location three days in a row. Report to ISU.

310 31st Ave. SE - Walmart
At 2:50 p.m., the victim’s 1997 black Nissan Frontier was stolen from the parking lot.

3310 S. Meridian - Target
While at the register paying for groceries, the victim’s Louis Vuitton purse was stolen out of her cart by a black male who then ran out of the store. Awaiting surveillance footage from Target Loss Prevention.

2576 S. Meridian - Meridian West Apartments
The victim’s passenger side window was broken out and her purse was stolen from the front seat. A suspicious male associated with a dark colored older sedan had been seen near the vehicle.
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x 2
310 31st Ave. SE - Walmart
An officer discovered a male and female passed out inside a vehicle with drug paraphernalia. Consent to search was granted, and K9 Otto located a small amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Both were cited and released.
Theft 2 / Theft 3 x 3 / Vehicle Prowl / Mal Misch 3 / Criminal Trespass 1
Various locations
A male spent over 10 minutes in the Safeway employee breakroom stealing items and changing into employee clothing items that he found. He also stole wallets, bank cards, etc. from the break-room.
A short time later, he was called in as a suspicious person looking into the open door of a nearby house before fleeing.
An officer located the suspect in the Taco Bell parking lot, crouched between two vehicles with gloves on and a screwdriver in his hand. He also had several bags and a car stereo near him.
Through investigation, we found multiple victims of thefts and vehicle prowls that he had committed during a crime spree that lasted a little over an hour throughout downtown. Lots of stolen property items were returned, and he was booked into Pierce County Jail.

Two white females stole over $500 worth of merchandise before fleeing in a red Pontiac G6.

The victim’s Flexor mountain bike was stolen. It has a black frame with white lettering and a red “X”.

An Asian male stole $185 worth of merchandise and fled after a brief scuffle with Loss Prevention. He was not located. Report to ISU.

304 Second St. NE - McDonald's
An officer contacted a juvenile male who was found to be a missing person and have juvenile warrants. He was cleared as missing and booked into Remann Hall.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery / Agency Assist
2101 N. Meridian Squad - Hometowne Studios
Milton PD was in a pursuit through Edgewood with a Chrysler Sebring displaying switched plates which they eventually lost. It was determined Federal Way PD had also been in a pursuit with the same vehicle earlier in the evening.
A short time later, an interrupted vehicle prowl was called in at the Hometowne Studios, and the vehicle from the pursuits was located unoccupied. It was a confirmed stolen out of Montana.
A male and female had fled from the scene and a K9 track was started. The female passenger was located hiding in the bushes (no K9 contact). The male was not located, but his shoes were found near the fence at Meridian Pointe. He is a white male with a shaved head in his 30s (with no shoes). Milton took over the rest of the investigation due to the elude.
Hit and Run - follow-up and Arrest
400 Second St. NE
A male caused a collision at the intersection by his lane movement/turn then continued driving. The victim followed and obtained his plate. Follow-up was conducted at the RO’s residence by Pacific PD who located the vehicle at the residence.
Officers made contact and obtained a confession and booking. The driver gave a lame excuse he could not get turned around and neared the freeway, so he decided just to go home. The driver had no insurance and had no driver’s license and was also cited for this.
Vehicle Prowl 2nd Degree - Arrest
1500-block of East Main Avenue
A male was observed trying door handles on a vehicle then caught in the act of getting inside and sitting in another employee’s vehicle while rifling through the console stealing change. The male then took off on his bicycle, headed for the rear trailhead behind Safeway.
However, he was intercepted and booked after a show-up field identification from the victim.

401 15th Ave. SE - Good Samaritan Hospital
While on a traffic stop with a Honda Civic for no front plate, the officer discovered that the owner’s license plate had been stolen while the owner was at the hospital. The plate was entered as stolen.

600-block of South Meridian
The victim discovered her passenger side window was shattered, and cigarettes and phone chargers had been stolen.
Malicious Mischief
1800-block of 34th Street Southeast
The victim’s bathroom window was damaged by a BB gun.
DUI
200 River Rd.
A female driver was stopped for multiple moving violations. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was ultimately arrested for DUI. She provided breath samples ranging from .135 - .140 and she was booked. She had one prior DUI arrest.
Agency Assist
401 15th Ave. SE - Good Samaritan Hospital
Officers located a male subject near the hospital. PCSD had probable cause for multiple DV order violations in which the male was the suspect. He was detained and handed off to deputies.
