Ferrucci Jr High Club Hosts Food Drive For Metro Animal Services

The Ferrucci Community Service Club is inviting the public to help feed hungry kids and pets in need.

PUYALLUP, WA — One group of middle schoolers is giving back to their community, with a "Fill the Cruiser" food drive to help feed hungry children and pets in need from across Pierce County.

The Ferrucci Community Service Club's drive will be this Monday, Feb. 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ferrucci Junior High.

The drive will benefit two groups: BackPack Kids, which helps feed hungry children in need, and Metro Animal Services, a pet shelter in Puyallup.

As a result, the drive is accepting both nonperishable food items fit for humans, and canned or dry pet foods. They'll also accept monetary donations for those who just want to give.
