The Great Junk Hunt Coming To State Fairgrounds In November

The flea market has been approved to use the fairground's space, which they say will be big enough to allow for safe social distancing.

PUYALLUP, WA — The Great Junk Hunt flea market is coming to the Washington State Fairgrounds this November, marking one of the first big events there since the pandemic forced the closure of the annual state fair.

Organizers describe the Great Junk Hunt as "a round up of curated vendors selling their best goods" but the event also comes with live music, drinks, and of course a lot of thrift shopping. The event will run from Friday, Nov. 13 to Sunday the 15th.

Organizers say they believe that the 90,000 square feet of the fairgrounds will be well put to use, and will allow enough space for social distancing, keeping the event safe and within state safety guidelines.

To help make space, however, tickets will be sold by the day for early buyers, and general admission tickets will only allow patrons in at select times, to prevent overcrowding. Ticket prices range from $20 for an all-Friday ticket, to $5-10 for general admissions on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket holders will enter from the fairground's blue gate.

The Great Junk Hunt organizes similar thrifting events all over the country, though the Puyallup event is one of their first this year.
