PUYALLUP, WA — This summer, amid a raging pandemic, the Washington State Fair made the difficult choice to cancel their yearly event.

Now, after months of planning they're back with a reworked winter celebration that they say is a fun, safe holiday experience for the whole family.

It's called Holiday Magic at The Fair, and organizers describe it as a "drive-thru experience with breathtaking lights and whimsical displays." From the fair's website, that seems to hold true: organizers promise all sorts of wintery events, from a festive light and display show, to a hot cocoa bar and traditional fair foods like funnel cakes and elephant ears.

To keep the event safe and socially distanced, organizers are selling tickets by time slot. Tickets cost $25 per vehicle, time slots are divided into 5 - 7 p.m., 7 - 9 p.m. and 9 - 10 p.m. Alternatively, visitors can buy an anytime ticket allowing for entry from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $35.

The event kicks off this Friday, Dec. 4 and runs through the weekend, then returns every Friday through Saturday through the end of December, as well as Dec. 21, 23, 30 and 31st, and January 2-3rd.
