Obituary: Mary 'Gaye' Honn, 87, Formerly Of Puyallup
Mary Honn was a longtime resident of Puyallup before moving to Arizona about 8 years ago.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — After a long illness, longtime Puyallup resident Mary 'Gaye' Honn "flew away with the butterflies" on May 22, according to her family.
Born on Nov. 16, 1931, in Puyallup, Gaye lived in her hometown until about eight years ago, when her son Barry moved her to Scottsdale, Arizona.
A longtime member of the Retail Clerk Union before her retirement, Gaye worked at The Valley Packing Meat Company, Elvin's, and several local grocers.

Gaye's family says she loved the Puyallup Valley, specifically views of Mt. Rainier and its local acreage of daffodils; in 1938, at just 7 years old, Gaye served as a flower girl on the Queens Float in the annual Daffodil Parade.

After moving to Scottsdale, Gaye's son Barry and his spouse, Joe, helped her enjoy the remainder of her life at the Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center.

Gaye is survived by Barry and her three daughters, Sylvia Tinsley, Wendy G. Honn, and Marcy G. Honn, as well as a number of grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Bill Hoskins, and her husband, Bob Honn.
The family asks that donations in Gaye's honor be made to any homeless services functioning in the Puyallup area.
